This is probably my first restaurant rating. My family and I were in Port Canaveral for a cruise. I made the walk to this non-franchised restaurant for breakfast while my family slept in. First walking in, you felt like you were walking into the hospitality atmosphere of your grandparents. Everyone smiling and overly helpful.
My waitress was Joanne, who was very conversational and friendly. Immediately commented on my manners asking where I was from because of such.
I went with the Eggs Benedict-Southern style with a side of grits and a plain coffee.
The coffee was perfect. Not too strong or too watered down. My cup never got below 1/3 empty bc all the waitresses were walking around keeping everyone topped off.
The meal was superb. The grits a hint of bacon flavoring, probably from a dab of grease :). But by no means were they greasy. They were not watery or too think. They were perfect. Secondly, the Eggs Benedict were the star of the meal. A poached egg with hillside sauce sitting on a thin southern fried chicken breast that all sat on a half of an English muffin.
This was probably one of my favorite breakfast meals in my 47 years. Just wish it was closer to Texas.
Southern Charm Cafe, thank you and Ms Joanne for the wonderful experience.
